John Wayne Parks was arrested Sunday and charged with statutory sex offense of a 13-, 14- or 15-year-old and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker said Monday.
Parks, who is 56 years old and lives on Railroad Street in Council, was released Monday after posting bail on a $102,500 bond. He is expected to have his first court appearance later this week in Bladen County District Court.
McVicker said the investigation in the case began in late December.
