Sophomore Laikyn Pait scored 5 of her game-high 13 points during a 16-6 first quarter run that propelled West Bladen to a 38-29 Four County Conference victory at Union Friday night.

Pait nailed a 3-point shot and added another basket during the first period surge. Two more baskets by Pait in the second quarter helped West Bladen to a 25-14 halftime lead.

Union trimmed the margin to 31-22 after 3 periods, but Pait tossed in 4 more points in the final quarter as the Lady Knights secured the victory.

Senior Delasia Richardson controlled the boards with 17 rebounds for the Lady Knights. Richardson and sophomore guard Alanna Ludlum threw in 6 points each. Sophmore Akira Grimes added 5 points.

Seven different players scored for West and all thirteen Lady Knights played in the game.

Coach Pam Stephens’ Lady Knights improved to 5-2 in the Four County and 8-8 overall. West Bladen will host Wallace-Rose Hill today (Saturday) at approximately 5 p.m.
