An update on railroad crossings is as follows:
OPENINGS
SR 1138 (Booker T. Washington Road) will open Saturday morning.
CLOSINGS:
SR 1137 (McKee Road), SR 1136 (White-McEwan Road), and NC 211 remain closed with a very short detour around 211 using SR 1170 (Bradshaw Road) and SR 1003 (Twisted Hickory Road).
It will be Tuesday morning before these roads are paved back and cooled down enough to open to traffic. Until then, use either SR 1003 (Twisted Hickory Road) or SR 1139 (Mitchell Ford Road) for access around the work areas.
US 701 Bypass and SR 1003 (Twisted Hickory) will not be replaced at this time, so they will remain open for the duration of operations.
UPCOMING CLOSINGS:
Beginning Monday January 26, CSX plans to close SR 1172 (Grimsley Farm Road) and SR 1175 (Fourth Street). NC 131 (Main Street) will remain open on Monday.
