East Bladen’s Lady Eagles rolled to victories in both games of a non-conference softball double-header over visiting West ColumbusWednesday night by scores of 10-0 and 10-2.

Lacey Suggs pitched a one-hit shutout and struck out 8 batters to pick up the win in the opener.  The junior lefthander only issued 2 walks in the game.

Abby Ward knocked in 4 runs with a perfect 3-3 performance at the plate. The junior shortstop smashed a double and stole a base.

Senior Anna Brewer cracked 2 hits in 2 at-bats, and senior catcher Lexi Dawson batted 2-3 with a run batted in and a stolen base.

Suggs belted 2 hits and stole 2 bases. Senior Abbey Norris, junior Miller Heustess and sophmore Emily Scott added one hit each to the 12-hit East Bladen attack. Freshman Shardajah Brown stole a base.

Dawson walloped a solo home run over the rightfield fence in Game 2 and finished 4-4 at the plate with 3 rbi’s and a double.

Freshman Faith Johnson batted a perfect 2-2 for the winners, and Heustess hammered a double and a single and drove in a run.

Suggs, Norris and Scott smacked one hit in the second game. Norris drove in a run, and Suggs, Ward and Heustess stole one base each.

Heustess picked up the win with a 6-hitter, while striking out 4 and walking one.

Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles improved to 7-1 with the two victories and will host Four County league-leader Heide Trask Friday night.
