GASTONIA – Bladen County’s 10U Boys All-Stars split their first two games in the State-Wide Activities Committee (SWAC) state soccer tournament Saturday at George Poston Park.
Nash County defeated Bladen County 7-2 in their tourney opener. Jonah Bryan fired in the first Bladen goal off of an assist from Easton Bostic. Wilson Clifton knocked in the second Bladen goal off of an assist from Ishaq Algozy.
Bladen County was awarded a forfeit in their second game when the Henderson-Vance team did not show up.
Bladen County will continue round-robin play Sunday morning at 9 a.m. against Fuquay-Varina and at 12 noon against Belmont. If Bladen finishes in the top two in pool play, they will advance to a 1:30 semi-final game. The state championship game is set for 3 p.m.
