The Thunder built an 8-3 lead and held on for an 8-6 victory over the Force in Bladen Recreation 11-12 Fast-Pitch Softball action at County Park.
Marlie Walters batted 2-2 with a run scored for the Thunder. Shortstop Lena Trinidad slammed a double and a single and scored twice for the winners. Teammate Megan Pait batted 2-3 and scored a run.
Brooke Singletary batted a perfect 2-2 and scored a run for the Thunder. Teammate Kaden Thurman turned in a 2-3 game at the plate and scored a run.
Catcher Holland Davis, Nyla Hunter, Haley Bryan and Tara Hester connected for one hit each for the Thunder. Davis, Hunter and Josephine Culbreth scored one run each.
Violet Allen, Kaitlynn Brisson, Morgan Benson, Emmee Ward, Ava Mohr and Kennedy Carroll cracked one hit each for the Force. Gracie Todd, Allen, Molly Pait, Benson, Carroll and Kailey Heath scored one run each for the Force.
Megan Pait pitched all 4 innings for the Thunder, while Ward pitched the first two innings for the Force and was relieved by Allen in the third inning.
