Tinyauh Rhoda stole home with the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift the Comets to a 7-6 victory over the Slammers in 13-16 Fast-Pitch Softball League action at County Park.

Rhoda drew a lead-off walk to begin the Comet sixth inning, then stole second and third before racing home with one out.

The Slammers had tied the game 6-6 in the top of the sixth when Carlie West walked, stole second, went to third on a throwing error and scored on Sydney Gardner’s grounder to shortstop.

Amelia Brisson struck out 11 batters and walked four in six innings to pick up the win for the Comets. Jordan Kinlaw struck out 10 batters, walked one and hit one in 5.1 innings in the circle for the Slammers.

Erica Storms smashed a first-inning double and scored a run to lead the Comet hitters. Teammates Katelynn Willoughby, Alyssa Suggs, Jordan Benson, Natalie Ludlum, Brisson and Brooke Priest connected for one hit each.

Johanna Parker batted 2-2 with a double, scored twice and drove in a run to lead the Slammer hitters. Kinlaw finished 2-3 at the plate with a run scored.

West hammered a 2-run triple in the fourth inning, scored twice and drove in three runs. Kayla Norris, Gardner, Sara Corriveau and Emmie contributed one hit each to the Slammer attack. Norris and Gardner drove in one run each, and Corriveau scored a run.
