Jazmine KempJazmine Kemp Double-Double Keys UNC-P Win

Elizabethtown native Jazmine Kemp recorded a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead UNC-Pembroke to a 55-50 Peach Belt Conference victory over Francis Marion Wednesday night  in Florence, SC.

Kemp also dished out 4 assists, blocked 2 shots and came up with one steal. The East Bladen grad popped in a couple of first half jump shots as the Lady Braves rallied from 5 points down to go up 23-21 at halftime.

A lay-up by Kemp put the Lady Braves up 27-25 with 16:46 left in the game. Francis Marion went back on top 41-37, but Kemp dropped in a lay-up and pumped in a jumper to tie the game 41-41 with 6:47 remaining.

Kemp also dished out two assists in the final four minutes as a 9-7 Lady Brave surge salted away the victory.

The Lady Braves claimed their fourth victory in their last five games and improved to 3-4 in the conference and 5-9 overall. UNC-Pembroke will travel to Dahlonega, GA Saturday for a 1:30 game against North Georgia College.
