East Bladen lost 2-1 in the 3rd round of the play-offs at top-seeded Thomasville Ledford and finished with a 17-4-1 record. Senior Gabe Barber was named the Three Rivers Player of the Year. READ MORE

Eagle Coach Jay Raynor was named TRC Coach of the Year, and Eagles’ Freddy Wooten, Jake Evans, Jay McKoy and Will Hester made the All-Conference team. West Bladen’s Keni Verdugo-Gomez and Jonathan Santana-Dominguez were also named to the all-league squad. READ MORE

After a rocky start East Bladen’s football Eagles won 4 of their final 5 regular season games to earn a state playoff bid. READ MORE

Five Eagles – Jordan Stanley, RaSean McKoy, Lawson Hester, Kasey Price and Josh Hayes – and 3 West Bladen Knights – Tyre Boykin, Kai Belle and Tra’shawn Ballard – were named to the All-Conference team. McKoy led the county with 1,431 rushing yards, while Boykin ran for 1,145 yards. READ MORE

West Bladen’s doubles team of Autumn Brisson and Alyssa Bell won the Three Rivers Conference doubles championhips, and teammate Alyssa Smith was the runner-up in the conference singles tournament. READ MORE

Brisson, Bell and Smith along with East Bladen juniors Lily Lin and Alyssa Futrell were all named to the All-Three Rivers Conference team. READ MORE 

West Bladen’s Mikayla Meadows and Sidnee Walters and East Bladen’s Katie Evans and Acee Campbell were all named to the All-Three Rivers Conference volleyball team. READ MORE West Bladen finished fourth in the TRC standings with an 11-7 record and East Bladen was fifth.

East Bladen’s Cate Devane and Rachel Horrell and West Bladens Haley George finished in the top ten in the Three Rivers Conference cross country championship race and were named to the All-TRC team. READ MORE

Elizabethtown native and North Carolna State standout Larrell Murchison was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference football team. READ MORE Larrell was also chosen to play in the Senior Bowl.

Farrell Murchison, Larrells brother, returned to the gridiron for his senior season at Winston-Salem State after missing last season fighting a personal battle with cancer. READ MORE Farrell scored 2 touchdowns in his season finale against Fayetteville State.

East Bladen grad Chris Cromartie played a key role on the defensive line for Campbell. READ MORE

Harrells Christian Academy’s Will deAndrade raised money to battle cancer through his kicking exploits for Harrells Christian’s football team. READ MORE

Bladen County’s 10U Boys All-Stars reached the final four of the StateWide Activities Committee’s State Tournament but due to heavy rains the tournament was shortened. READ MORE
