The annual Bladen We Care Gala is scheduled for Friday, April 20, at the Venue at White Lake at 7 p.m. and the 29th Annual Bladen We Care Byron H. Gooden Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, April 26, at Vineyard Golf at White Lake located between Elizabethtown and White Lake.

The Gala will feature the Blackwater Rhythm and Blues Band and is sponsored by Smithfield. Cost is $50 per person and attire is “Island casual.”

“Our support for individual grants is never ending and helps us fill a need for those unable to support their health costs. Support for Bladen Crisis, Bladen Baptist, Carolina Crossroads and our nursing scholarships at Bladen Community College are making a difference in our community also,” said Tournament Chairman Mac Campbell in a written statement.

The 29th Annual Golf Tournament will actually feature two tournaments. The morning event will kick off at 8:30 a.m. and the afternoon event will start at 1 p.m. The event uses a Captain’s Choice format and you can bring your own team or be assigned to a team.

Entry forms are now available at the Vineyard Golf Pro Shop or can be obtained by calling Mac Campbell (910-862-0779), Wesley Campbell (910-874-2008) or Renee Horton (910-874-4004) or emailing bladenwecare@campbelloil.net or faxing 910-862-5531. The cost per team is $125.00 per person. Any person or firm interested in becoming a sponsor is asked to call the above.
