The West Bladen boys’ soccer team lost 10-1 at Bunn on Friday night in the opening round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2A playoffs.
West Bladen finished with a 7-10-1 record. It was the Knights’ first playoff appearance since 2016 when they lost 5-0 at First Flight.
Bunn, 11-3-2 record, advances to the second round where it will host the winner of Saturday’s Washington-Graham game.
East Bladen is scheduled to open the 1A playoffs Saturday at home against Mattamuskeet. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. Admission is $7.
The Eagles are the No. 15 seed in 1A East and have a 10-6-2 record. No. 18 seed Mattamuskeet has a 5-5-4 record.
Saturday’s winner will play the winner of the East Columbus-Hobbton game in the second round.
