Here are three things to know for Friday, January 24:
1. Bladen Schools Closed: Students and staff will not have classes today and all activities are cancelled through the weekend because of hazardous road conditions caused by recent snow.
2. Golf Courses Remain Closed: Vineyard Golf at White Lake and Land ‘O Lakes in Whiteville are unplayable because of cold and snow. Greens were covered earlier this week.
3. 4-H Teams Interest Meeting: January 30, 6:30 p.m., N.C. Cooperative Extension-Bladen County Center, 450 Smith Circle, Elizabethtown. Must be 8 years old by January 1 to participate. Register at go.ncsu.edu/bladen4hteammeeting. Information: toni_newby@ncsu.edu or 910-862-4591.
