1. Bladen County Board of Commissioners 2023-24 Budget Meeting: Tuesday, 6 p.m., inside Commissioners’ Room on lower level of Bladen County Courthouse, Elizabethtown. Also, consider a capital outlay request submitted by Bladen County Schools.
2. Poetry Night: Saturday, 6-8 p.m., Bladenboro Historical Building, 818 S. Main Street. Submit poetry entries to vgnealy94@gmail.com by May 13. $10 per entry for chance to win $100. $5 general admission includes snack and drink.
3. Whack Smack It Memorial Tournament: June 2, noon, Vineyard Golf at White Lake. $60 per person. Sponsored by Jim and Sue Schultz Foundation. Proceeds will benefit East Bladen High School and West Bladen High Schools athletic programs and the Elizabethtown Dixie Youth Baseball program. (READ MORE)
