1. Coffee with a Cop: Today, 9-10 a.m., Barefoot Brew, 119 West Broad Street, Elizabethtown. Mission is to break down barriers between police officers and citizens by allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the officers. Information: police@elizabethtownnc.org.
2. Chicken & Rice Plate Sale: Friday, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church, 800 West Broad Street. $10 per plate. Sponsored by East Bladen Booster Club.
3. Bladen County Shrine Club Fish Fry: Oct. 9, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Food Lion parking lot, 1202 West Broad Street, Elizabethtown. $10 plates that include fish, slaw, fries and hush puppies. Proceeds go to Shriners Hospital for Children.
