2. Bladen County Board of Elections Absentee Board: Today, 5 p.m., Elections office, 301 South Cypress Street, Elizabethtown. Meeting subject to be canceled if there are no absentee ballots. Information: 910-862-2951.
3. Barbeque Plate Fundraiser: Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., 900 West Broad Street (former Thaggard Insurance Agency). $10 per plate, take out only. Benefit Michael “Mike” Thaggard Jr., who was diagnosed in May 2001 with aggressive brain tumors.
