1. Today is the start of hurricane season. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is predicting another above-normal Atlantic hurricane season. However, experts do not anticipate the historic level of storm activity seen in 2020.
2. The East Bladen baseball team plays its final regular season home game tonight. It’s Senior Night for the Eagles, who play St. Pauls at 7 p.m. The unbeaten East Bladen JV team had its game against St. Pauls canceled. The West Bladen varsity and JV teams are scheduled to play at West Columbus today. (SPORTS PAGE)
3. Government meetings today are Clarkton Board of Commissioners at Town Hall and Tar Heel Board of Commissioners at the Multi-Purpose Building. Both are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
