The Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce met on Tuesday at the Cape Fear Farmers Market and heard a presentation from Danaher Plant Manager Kevin Southerby regarding the company and some of its more familiar divisions.
He told the group that locally, Danaher employs 350 people. Of those about 100 are engineers, purchasing agents, buyers, etc. Southerby said that folks travel from Wilmington to Elizabethtown to work at the plant. There are three vans that transport the folks from Wilmington to the plant each day.
Southerby talked about the different divisions of Danaher Specialty products. Eagle Signal Controls manufactures timers that have a variety of applications; Joslyn Clark manufactures pump controls for such things as fire suppression systems in buildings; Veeder-Root manufactures a variety of counters; Superior Electric manufactures voltage control component for radio transmitter towers; Namco manufacture switches for such things as water valves and pumps; Thomson manufactures bearings and bushings.
