Four Bladen County youth soccer teams are competing in the State-Wide Activities Committee (SWAC) State Soccer Tournament in Gastonia this weekend.
The 14U Boys opened played Friday night. The other teams — 10U Girls, 10U Boys and 12U Girls — will begin bracket play Saturday. Semifinals and championship games in each division are scheduled Sunday.
10U Girls
Bladen County will play Elkin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in their first game. The Bladen All-Stars’ second game will be Saturday at 3:15 p.m. against Belmont. Bladen County will continue bracket play with a 5:45 p.m. Saturday game against Fuquay Varina.
The Bladen team’s final game in bracket play will be Sunday at 9 a.m. against Wilson. Semi-finals are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Sunday with the championship game to follow at 2 p.m.
Members of the team are Jazmy Funez, Iveonna Ward, Mary Frances Sutton, Aubrey Schwable, Mollie Tolar, Jakeline Medina Leal, Leah McGill, Ella Campbell, Macey Potter, Gabriela Ventura, Niyah Wooten and Marlee Potter. Coaches are: Mike Potter, Jason Sutton and Jennifer Fruehey.
10U Boys
Bladen County will play Rocky Mount at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in their first game. The Bladen All-Stars’ second game in bracket play will be Saturday at 5 p.m. against Belmont #1. Semi-finals are scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday with the championship game to follow at 12:45 p.m.
Members of the team are Conner Padrick, Cooper Padrick, Fernando Rebollar Chavez, Garrett Dunham, Chace Butler, Cade Allen, Aiden Russ, Kevyn delacruz-labra, Shandell Gonzales, Filip Rygiel, Jonah Bryan and Zachary Sholar. Coaches are Nathan Allen, Jerry Padrick and Joseph Russ.
12U Girls
Bladen County will play Holly Springs Saturday at 9 a.m. Bladen County’s second game will be Saturday at 1:30 against Fuquay Varina. Semi-finals will be played at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with the championship game slated for 1:30 p.m.
Members of the team are Karla Dimas-Lopez, Sophia Masaid, Lilly Davis, Ashlyn Williams, Michelle Hernandez-Ortiz, Eva Camila Ayala Martinez, Molly Evans, Reagan Moore, Heidi Ventura, Lena Damasco-Trinidad and Reese Hester. Coaches are Paul Evans, Clint Hester and Rob Davis.
14U Boys
Bladen County opened the tournament against Belmont #2 Friday. Bladen County’s second game will be Saturday at 10:45 a.m. against Rocky Mount. The Bladen team’s final game in bracket play will be at 2 p.m. Saturday against Nash County #2.
Semi-finals are scheduled for 10 a.m. Sunday with the championship game to follow at 1:30 p.m.

Coaches are Freddie McElveen, Ilka McElveen and Jay Raynor.
