Former East Bladen High standout and current NFL player Desmond Bryant will conduct his 5th annual football camp Saturday, July 16 at East Bladen High School from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The camp is free and open to ages six through 18.
The camp gives participants an opportunity to learn about successful life skills along with doing athletic drills.
Registration will be accepted on the day of the camp beginning at 8 a.m., or preregistration applications are available at several places throughout the community. For information, call (910) 872-4470.
Bryant, 30, graduated from East Bladen High School in 2004 and attended Harvard University. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound defensive end was signed in 2009 by the NFL’s Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent. He played in all 16 games and had 32 tackles his rookie season Bryant spent four years and played in 63 games for the Raiders.
Bryant signed a five-year, $34 million contract with Cleveland in 2013 and is preparing for his fourth season with the Browns.
In his seven NFL seasons, Bryant has played 104 games, made 238 tackles and 26 quarterback sacks.
