LAKE WACCAMAW – West Bladen’s jayvee football Knights claimed their third straight Three Rivers Conference victory Monday night with a 12-8 victory over East Columbus.
The game was postponed from Thursday night due to a lightning storm.
Freshman quarterback Shy’Ron Adams threw a 63-yard touchdown pass to sophmore Dashawn Hines. Freshman Malachi Oxendine raced 33 yards for the other Knight touchdown. Both conversion attempts failed.
“The defense played a great game recovering four turnovers,” said West Bladen Coach Taurius Baker. “The defense had three goal line stands to preserve the win.”
A.J. Brown intercepted a pass in the end zone to stop one Gator scoring threat.
West Bladen, now 3-0 on the season, will host South Robeson Thursday night.
