The Bladen County Board of Elections has been busy this month. The Board members of the Board of Elections met on October 24th. Returned Ballots, recordings and mock election were all on the agenda for the meeting.

Elections Board member, Mr. Al Daniels, voiced concerns about the agenda item, Audio and Video. He asked Director, Cynthia Shaw to change the first item on the agenda to state BladenOnline.com. Daniel’s recommended the change so readers of the agenda would know the meeting was being recorded by the local news outlet.

Two mail ballets were reissued according to Shaw. “Two ballets were reissued because of incomplete witness information on them. One person signed and witnessed their own ballet,” Shaw explained.

Shaw reported the mock election had been conducted and was a success. Shaw explained the reason for the mock elections.

She said, “The state has to see every county have a trial run.”

One Stop voting was discussed with the number of citizens participating in the One Stop voting. Saturday, November the 4th is the last day for One Stop voting. The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7th, 2017.
