Spread the love

This is the season of giving and a store in Dublin wants to help others in need with a day of “Holiday of Hope”.

“We want to help children and families in need,” Brenda Tatum, the local Dollar General Store Manager, said when she announced the big day.

The Dollar General, located at 7460 Albert Street in Dublin, has a Christmas tree decorated with ornaments and lights. The ornaments have initials of children and families’ names who are in need this holiday season. The store asked Dublin Elementary for assistance with the names of students who may need help, according to Tatum.

“Some need coats, shoes, school uniforms and other clothes. That is what we want to help them with during this day,” Tatum said.

The store has most of the toys the children have asked for, but the real need is getting them coats, shoes and clothes Tatum explained. Anyone wanting to help can go to the store and pick an ornament. Collections for the needed items will take place from now until the big day of “Holiday of Hope” on December 9th.

Santa, Race Car Drivers, Dublin Peanut Festival Royals, and local church members will be at the event to help celebrate hope. There will also be food and drinks according to Tatum.  Everyone is invited to help and partake in the event.
