Junior guard Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson scored the 1,000th point of her East Bladen basketball career Tuesday night in the Lady Eagles 68-62 win at West Bladen.

Moore-Peterson went into Tuesday’s game with a total of 996 career points. After tossing in a first-period basket, Moore-Peterson reached the 1,000 point mark with her first basket of the second quarter.

On hand to see Moore-Peterson reach the milestone was Lacey Suggs, the most recent Lady Eagle to reach the 1,000 point mark. Suggs ranks third on the Lady Eagle career scoring list with 2,139 points.

Other Lady Eagles to join the 1,000 point club during Coach Patty Evers tenure as head coach include all-time East Bladen leading scorer Courtney Melvin (2,502 points), JaToya Kemp (1,636 points), her sister Jazmine Kemp (1,514 points) and Dorothy Corbett (1,577 points).
