FAIRMONT – East Bladen’s Lady Eagles ran their winning streak to 13 consecutive games Friday night with a 62-42 Three Rivers Conference girls basketball victory over Fairmont.
Junior Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson just missed a double-double with 15 points, 9 assists and 3 rebounds to lead the Lady Eagles. Sophmore Patience Ward finished one rebound short of a double-double with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Junior Erica McKoy filled up the stat sheet with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists. Junior Ashley Hardin was also very close to a double-double with 9 points and 9 rebounds.
Senior Shardajah Brown pumped in 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds for the winners, and freshman Katie Evans pulled down 4 rebounds.
The Lady Eagles maintained their 2-game lead in the Three Rivers standings and improved to 12-1 in league play and 17-1 overall.
Sariyah Thompson led Fairmont with 12 points, and teammate Jufaye Williams followed with 10 points.
East Bladen will visit St. Pauls Tuesday night.
