CERRO GORDO – West Columbus defeated West Bladen 60-36 Tuesday night in Three Rivers Conference girls basketball action.

Senior Annela Tiffany poured in 11 of her game-high 29 points in the opening period as the Lady Vikings edged ahead 22-18. Sophmore Seniah Johnson and senior Chasitty Lacey fired in two 3-point baskets each for the Lady Knights in the quarter.

Sophmore Lexie Corrothers nailed a 3-point shot, and senior Patience Parker sank a trio of free throws to keep West Bladen within 4 points at the quarter break.

Tiffany tossed in five more baskets for West Columbus in the second period as the Lady Vikings rode a 16-3 run to a 38-21 halftime lead. Two free throws by Parker and one by senior Elizabeth Allbright accounted for the Lady Knight points in the quarter.

Johnson drained a 3-point shot in the third quarter, Allbright pumped in a basket and a free throw and Parker tossed in a basket, but West Columbus pushed the margin to 52-29.

Parker threw in a basket and 2 free throws in the final quarter to finish with a team-high 11 points. Lacey added 2 free throws, and freshman Nyasia Ellison hit one.

Johnson finished with 9 points for West Bladen, and Lacey totaled 8 points.

The Lady Knights will host West Columbus Wednesday night.
