West Bladen High School LogoFAIRMONT – Fairmont exploded for ten first-inning runs en route to an 11-4 jayvee baseball victory over West BladenWednesday in Three Rivers Conference action.

The Tornadoes bunched 5 hits, 4 walks and an error to score the 10 runs in the first inning.

West Bladen scored a run in the top of the first. Freshman Sam West was hit by a pitch, stole second and sprinted home on a passed ball.

Freshman Jadecus Register cracked a 2-out single in the Knight third inning, stole second and raced home when junior Jeremy Pait belted a single.

The Knights tacked on 2 more runs in the fourth. Freshman Kendall Johnson blasted a lead-off triple. After walks to Chris Bailey and Sam West, Jeremy Pait knocked in Johnson with a single to left. Jeremy Pait was hit by a pitch to force home Bailey.

Register batted 2-2 with a run batted in and a run scored. Jeremy Pait singled and drove in 2 runs. Johnson walloped the triple and scored a run. Freshman Cameron Flowers laced a single, and Sam West and Bailey scored runs.

Freshman Andrew Pait started on the mound for the Knights and was relieved by Bailey in the third inning.
