“To me, getting promoted in any organization is a big deal,” said Sheriff McVicker.

Several deputies received promotions. Those receiving promotions were: Richard Allen who was promoted to the rank of First Sgt.; James Reece Daniels was promoted to the rank of Corporal; Sean Gibson was promoted to the rank of Corporal; Andrew Powell was promoted to the rank of Captain.

Sheriff McVicker took the time to thank all of the deputies for their hard work and their service to the Sheriff’s Office. He also spoke about the new Jail Diversion program.

“These younger deputies now, their ambition is to help them. If you can help them, help them. So we have a program going on now counseling our inmates called Jail Diversion. It’s going very, very well,” said Sheriff McVicker of the Jail Diversion program.

Sheriff McVicker noted he was proud of everyone at the ceremony. Sheriff’s Office Chaplain Warren Hill closed the ceremony with prayer.
