Today is Good Friday, 2018.  Most governmental offices are closed, call ahead.

A new major league baseball season is officially underway as of yesterday.  Remember when the season began with a single game.  First time I recall all teams scheduled to play the first day.

From the “I did not realize department”!  17% of all North Carolina workers are engaged in ag relate jobs.  Farming is an $84 billion business, the #1 industry in the state.

Numerous Easter related celebrations are planned for Sunday, including a cantata, ‘We Shall Behold Him’,  at 11 AM and 7:30 PM at E-town Presbyterian Church.

The latest census indicates Bladen County’s populations dropped from 35,194 in July 2010 to 33,478 in 2017.  A loss of 1,715 or nearly 5%.  Other counties in the area also saw a drop, including Robeson, Sampson and Scotland.  So what’s the big deal?  State and federal allocations of varies type funds are determined by population.

Looking back, the population of Bladen has grown little over the years.
