Dr. Leroy Purdie, a Bladen County native, will be the Keynote speaker at the Bladen County Training School-Bladen Central High School Alumni Association’s Minority Business Banquet on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
 Purdie, a U.S. Army veteran, spent more than 20 years as a coach, teacher and mentor for soldiers. He was selected over his peers to serve as senior enlisted manager of an organization with 381 personnel at Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia, where he instructed classes on professional development, career management, situational leadership and workplace diversity.While serving at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan, he taught classes on leadership, stress management and career development to noncommissioned officers. He has facilitated online classes at Western International University and the University of Phoenix.
Dr. Purdie earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Campbell University, Buies Creek, NC; his Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development from Webster University, St. Louis Mo. and a Doctor of Education from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA. Dr. Purdie is a state registered mediator who owns LPJ Services, Inc. where he serves as human resources and business consultant, specializing in customer service improvement, conflict resolution and dealing with difficult employees.
The Minority Banquet will be held at The Paul Brown Building on Martin Luther King Drive in Elizabethtown, NC beginning at 7:30PM. The John L. LucasOutstanding Business Award will be presented during the Banquet.Admission is $20.00 and the public is invited.
