ELIZABETHTOWN – West Robeson American defeated Elizabethtown 9-1 Thursday night in the semi-finals of the District 9 Dixie Youth Baseball Minors Tournament.
A 5-run West Robeson fourth-inning stretched a 2-0 lead to 7-0.
Elizabethtown scored their run in the sixth inning. Tyler Lewis led off with a single but was retired on a double play. Davion Lewis walked and scored on Coley Sasser’s hit.
Sasser batted 3-3 with an rbi. Tyler Lewis finished 2-3 at the plate. Zack Sholar, Torrean Cogdell, Colton Daly and Easton Bostic connected for one hit each. Davion Lewis scored the only run.
Tyler Lewis, Sholar and Davion Lewis shared the pitching duties for Elizabethtown.
West Robeson American advanced to Friday night’s championship game against Red Springs.
