Thoughts While ShavingIn previous years, the political advertising season would begin shortly after Labor Day, and my guess is the pattern will not change greatly this year, however, some are getting an early start.  Apparently $s are not a problem for the candidates, party, or interested supporters.  It’s our system, the best in the world.

We are being ‘slammed’ early, warning bout the ‘rascals’, if we can believe the ads….

When in doubt about national news presented as FACT, GOOGLE….FactCheck.org. or  Snopes.  At least a little background info that may be helpful..

Lots happening in coming weeks including an election on November 6.

Locally, add another to the list…..Seafood and Sunset, October 11, 6 PM at White Lake.  Annual fundraiser for Bladen Community College.  Call 910-79-5519 for details.

Old-timers were seldom in school prior to Labor Day.  Tobacco must be harvested, it was THE money crop in the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Any special plans for Labor Day?  Pork, chicken, hotdogs and hamburgers top the cook-out menu.  Roads may be crowded as many enjoy the last big weekend of 2018 summer.

Tired of cutting grass, maybe a few goats would be helpful, it the neighbors agree, not likely.
