CARY – West Bladen’s Savannah Lee was defeated in the first round of the NCHSAA Class 2A Individual State Tennis Championships Friday morning by the defending state champion, Zoe Huffman of Maiden by set scores of 6-0, 6-0.
Lee, a senior and West Bladen’s No. 1 singles player, was the Three Rivers Conference runner-up and qualified for the state tournament by finishing fourth in the Class 2A MidEast Regional. Lee finished the season with a 19-5 singles record.
