Thoughts While ShavingThe 12th Annual Bladenboro Beast Fest is officially underway and will continue throughout the day and into the evening hours.  It’s free and all are invited.  Google BladenOnline for a lineup of today’s activities including one of the biggest events of this year…7 PM, The Band of Oz will be on stage.  Hope to see you there.  May want to bring a chair if you plan a long visit.

Opening ceremonies begin at 10 AM with a Tribute to Trooper Kevin Conner, the Bladenboro native recently killed in the line of duty.

Have you voted?  One more week of Early Voting and on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6….

Drove home from Asheville yesterday….rained and heavy fog made it an interesting trip.  Happy to be back in Bladen.

Stock Market continues to ‘slide’…..

No high school football last night (Friday).  Weather forced changes.  Thursday night South Columbus defeated West Bladen.  Tonight, South Robeson at East Bladen, 6 PM match.

In NCHSAA 2A Mideast Regional Cross Country Meet, 9 AM, East Bladen Boys are competing at Wake Med Soccer Complex, and at 10 AM, West Columbus at West Bladen.

It’s been an interesting year for outdoor sporting events.

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 4.

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.  Anthony J. D’Angelo

Who cares about the clouds when we’re together?  Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.

The only way I’d worry about the weather is if it snows on our side of the field and not theirs.  Tommy Lasorda, former Dodger manager
