BLADENBORO – West Bladen rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat East Columbus 20-18 Friday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball action.
The Lady Gators took a 14-11 lead into the final period, but Anniya Phillips pumped in a basket and 2 free throws for West, and freshman Hannah Pait worked the paint for a basket and a free throw. Ally Perez tossed in a basket as the Lady Knights rode a 9-4 closing spurt to the victory.
Pait led the Lady Knight scoring with 9 points. Phillips and Perez finished with 4 points each, and Tinyauh Rhoda added 3 points.
East Columbus took an early 4-0 lead, but Pait sank a basket and 4 free throws, and Rhoda threw in a basket as the Lady Knights pulled even 8-8 at halftime.
Perez canned 2 free throws, and Rhoda made a free throw for West in the third quarter.
West Bladen will host Whiteville Friday.
