So, how are you doing with your New Year’s Resolutions?  I ceased making them years ago….

I am so impressed with much of what is going on all around us…I know, lots to be done.  So few making such a huge contribution.

Visited Carolina Crossroads, briefly, recently.  Great work being done, quietly, by mostly volunteers on a limited budget.  Bladen Baptist are playing a ‘big’ role.  Lot’s of help for some who have fallen on hard times.  New or slightly worn male clothing, supplies, better still, cash is needed to keep the program healthy, assisting those with alcohol & drug issues.  Rev. Kincy Barrow is the leader….Bladen Baptist Association can provide more details…It deserves the support of all.  Mail your check to Carolina Crossroads, 1086 Susie Sand Hill Road, Elizabethtown, NC 28337.  Can’t think of a better cause.

Need a better job?  Looking for a career change?  Check with the folks at Bladen Community College….They can assist by providing training for a new trade.  Nursing & welding to mention a couple….They are ready, willing and able….they offer so much.  One of Bladen’s hidden jewels….

NC State Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler announced Wednesday that the first round of checks from the state’s $240 million Ag Disaster Relief Program of 2018 have been sent to farmers.  More are scheduled to be mailed Friday.  The recent government shut-down slowed the process.  But, for many, a check is in the mail, or should be soon.

Congratulations to Lynwood Hedgepeth of Columbus County, recently named as one of four new inductees to the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame.  If you know anything about high school sports (baseball)  in this part of the state, you no doubt have heard about Coach Hedgepeth…Four will be honored May 5 in Wilmington.  More info coming…

Ever stumble and fall and blame everyone but yourself.  I am a charter member of the club.  Thanks to Charlotte and Erin (BOL) for helping get my priorities back in order.

Lots of health issues throughout the area….Best I can describe is the ‘crud’.  Not sure that is a word, but you probably know what I mean.  A shot in the hip and a few pills prescribed by a medical professional and some cough syrup helps.  Trust me.

The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity.

Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.

You learn more from failure than from success.

If you are working on something that you really care about, you don’t have to be pushed.
