The court date for the driver who is accused of damaging the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kelly is set for May 1.

Allanda Darine Parrish, 66, of Elizabethtown, appeared in Bladen County District Criminal Court on Monday. She is facing charges of driving while impaired, reckless driving to endanger, and revoked driver’s license.

The Garden of Memories cemetery located on NC 53 in the Kelly community suffered an estimated $3,000 in damages in the February 25th incident. Several headstones were knocked over and damaged after Parrish allegedly drove her car into the cemetery.

Also appearing in Bladen County District Criminal Court on Monday, Halie Alexis Benjamin had her case continued until May 21.  She is facing a charge of larceny by employee.

JoJanguir Franco also had his case continued to May 17. He is charged with possession of marijuana up to 1/2 ounce and possession of marijuana, and driving while license is revoked.
