ELIZABETHTOWN – Laura Davisson pitched a one-hitter and struck out 8 batters to lead Elizabethtown to a 16-0 non-conference softball victory over Emereau Charter Tuesday.

Leah McGill belted a lead-off single in the first inning for the only hit for the Aviators.

The Lady Cougars scored 9 runs in the first inning. Davisson led off with a single, and Iveonna Ward walloped a 2-run home run. Lainey Hughes and Stacey Gomez drew walks, and Abril Mena and Mary Frances Sutton smacked singles.

Brianna Warquiler walked and McKenzie Kellam and Davisson were both hit by pitches. Hughes capped the inning with a single. Davisson scored 2 runs in the inning, and Ward, Hughes, Gomez, Mena, Sutton, Warquiler and Kellam scored one run each.

Elizabethtown added 6 runs in the second inning. Warquiler reached base to begin the inning. Kellam and Davisson cracked singles, and Ward walked. Hughes, Gomez and Zoe Smith delivered consecutive singles. Warquiler, Kellam, Davisson, Ward, Hughes and Gomez scored runs as the lead grew to 15-0.

Davisson and Ward smashed singles in the third inning, and Davisson scored the final Elizabethtown run.

Davisson batted 3-3 and scored 4 runs to lead the Lady Cougar hitters. Hughes finished 2-2 at the plate and scored 2 runs. Ward batted 2-3 with the home run and 2 runs scored. Gomez, Zoe Smith, Mena, Sutton and Kellam added one hit each. Gomez, Warquiler and Kellam scored 2 runs each. Mena and Sutton scored one run each.
