BLADENBORO – Senior Conner Brisson batted 3-4 and knocked in 3 runs to lead West Bladen to a 10-4 Three Rivers Conference softball victory over Fairmont Friday night.

Brisson doubled and scored 2 runs. Sophmore teammate Alyssa Suggs finished 2-2 at the plate with a double. Junior Kyla Reed doubled, drove in a run and scored a run. Freshmen Hannah Pait and Lauren Pait, junior Kasee Singletary and sophmore Shelby Pharr added one hit each.

Freshman Hailey Guyton scored 3 times as the courtesy runner for Suggs. Junior Alara Cashwell, senior Lexie Pittman, Lauren Pait and sophmore Taylor West scored one run each.

Brisson, Reed, Cashwell and Suggs drew walks in the West Bladen first inning that forced home Brisson. Pharr lined a single to centerfield that plated Reed and Cashwell. Lauren Pait and West walked, and Singletary and Brisson cracked singles that scored Brisson, the courtesy runner for Suggs, and put the Lady Knights ahead 4-0.

In the third inning, West drew a walk and raced home when Brisson walloped a double down the leftfield line to pad the West Bladen lead to 5-0.

Suggs smacked a single to centerfield in the fourth inning, Pharr walked and Lauren Pait beat out an infield single. Guyton, the courtesy runner for Suggs, darted home on a passed ball. Brisson blasted a double to left-center that scored Pittman, the courtesy runner for Pharr, and Lauren Pait. Reed ripped a double down the leftfield line that scored Brisson for a 9-0 lead.

Fairmont capitalized on a pair of hits to score twice in the fifth inning.

Suggs drilled a double to left-centerfield in the home fifth, and courtesy runner Guyton scored on an error to push the lead to 10-2.

A Mya Hunt single and a Santana Anderson triple led to a pair of Lady Tornado runs in the seventh inning. Anderson finished 2-4 at the plate with a triple, a double and an rbi. Teammate McKenzie Johnson also batted 2-4.

Pharr pitched a complete game 7-hitter and struck out four batters to pick up the win for West Bladen.

Coach Pam Stephens’ Lady Knights improved to 6-3 in the TRC and 8-3 overall. West Bladen will travel to Red Springs Monday night.
