The Thunder rallied for six runs in the fifth inning to edge the Force 14-13 Thursday night in Bladen Recreation’s 11-12 Softball League action.

With the Force leading 10-8, Marlie Walters walloped a triple to begin the Thunder fifth inning. Kallie Bass reached base, and Holland Davis belted a single. Abbie Hickman and Jahyra Priest reached base, and Kara Gause walked. Walters, Bass, Davis, Hickman, Priest and Gause all scored to push the Thunder in front 14-10.

Erin Murdock, Madison Wilkins and Molly Pait drew walks and scored runs in the Force half of the fifth. However, Davis, the Thunder catcher kept her balance with a bat under her feet and caught a pop-up in front of the plate to help the Thunder hold on for the win.

The Force grabbed an early 3-0 lead. Natalee Sykes and Hannah Richardson drew walks, and Marly Crabtree hammered a double. All three of them scored.

Morgan Moore and Gause reached base in the Thunder second inning and Abbie Hickman walked. All three of them scored to tie the game 3-3.

Ward walked and Sykes reached base on an error in the Force half of the second and both of them scored for a 5-3 Force lead.

Megan Pait walked, Brooke Singletary smacked a single, and Walters, Bass and Davis all reached base in the Thunder third inning. All five of them scored for an 8-5 Thunder lead.

Gracie Todd and Murdock drew walks and scored runs in the Force third inning to close the gap to 8-7. Ward, Sykes and Tolar drew walks and all three scored to vault the Force ahead 10-8 in the fourth inning.

Walters batted 2-for-3 with the triple and three runs scored to lead the Thunder hitters. Singletary and Davis added one hit each. Bass, Gause and Hickman scored two runs each, and Megan Pait, Singletary, Davis, Moore and Priest scored one run each.

Crabtree hammered a double to lead the Force hitters. Sykes scored three runs, and Ward and Murdock scored 2 runs each. Crabtree, Richardson, Tolar, Todd, Wilkins and Molly Pait scored one run each.

Megan Pait struck out seven batters for the Thunder.
