A reminder of the 3rd Annual Bladen County Aim for Cure fundraiser Saturday, June 29 at Allen Brothers Outdoor Clubhouse. A fundraiser for ALS research and survivors. The main event is a 3D Archery tournament. Google Allen Brothers for more info. They are located at 3062 Cabbage Road, Bladenboro. Promises to be a fun event to raise money for one of the most dreaded diseases.

Checking the weather forecast for coming days, and it is going to be hot, hot, hot for the next 10 days to two weeks. 90 plus degree heat and we still need rain … corn, peanuts, cotton and soybeans suffering. Recent rainfall has been spotty, at best.

Vacation time for many … remember when many factories closed the week of July 4th, maybe some still do. Cut & sew operations were in that category. Do you remember cut & sew businesses? They were located in Bladenboro, Clarkton, Elizabethtown, maybe more … provided employment primarily for females, few males, including me. Sweat shops if ever there was one. But, better than nothing.

I am an early riser. Check the weather and obits … on BladenOnline.
