RIEGELWOOD – Elizabethtown blanked South Columbus 10-0 Monday night in the Dixie Youth Baseball AAA (Minors) Supplemental Tournament.

Elizabethtown advances to the tournament championship game at 6:30 Tuesday night against Whiteville.

DeVance Tatum pitched a one-hitter and struck out 5 batters to pick up the win.

Omar Powell slammed a double to begin the Elizabethtown first inning. Wilson Clifton cracked a single that scored Powell. Cade Rogers reached base on a fielder’s choice and scored on an error for a 2-0 lead.

John Monroe, Conner Hill, Powell, Tatum and Wilson Clifton drew walks to start the Elizabethtown third inning that forced home Monroe and Hill. Rogers smacked a single that scored Powell and Tatum. Seth Faircloth knocked in Wilson Clifton and Rogers. Faircloth later scored to push the lead to 9-0.

Monroe was hit by a pitch and scored the run that ended the game on the mercy rule in the fourth inning.

Powell doubled and scored twice to lead the Elizabethtown hitters. Wilson Clifton, Rogers and Faircloth connected for one hit each for the winners. Rogers and Monroe scored two runs each. Tatum, Wilson Clifton, Faircloth and Hill scored one run each.

Wilson Clifton, Rogers and Faircloth drove in 2 runs each, and Tatum drove in a run.
