July 2019 Bladen Community College Small Business Center Seminars

The Small Business Center (SBC) of Bladen Community College is excited to
announce the start of dedicated counseling time at local area libraries!

One Wednesday each month, Todd Lyden, the SBC Director will be at either the
Bladenboro or Clarkton branches of the Bladen County Public Library from 1-
3PM to offer sit-down, one-on-one, confidential guidance on business issues for
people looking to start a business or small business owners looks for advice on
growing their business.

Sessions start Wednesday July 17 th at the Bladenboro Branch, please call 910-872-0018 to reserve time or request counseling on the website: https://www.ncsbc.net/center.aspx?center=75040 . The next one in
August will be at Clarkton branch library on Wednesday August 14 th from 1-3PM.

The SBC is continuing the monthly conference call to assist small businesses
marketing in rural areas. Register online for the information to participate on
Friday July 12th from 10:30-11:30AM for “Rural Marketing Roundup: Email is Still
Important” to talk about using email in rural markets for small business.
The new Small Business Incubator in Elizabethtown at 207 E Broad St is hosting
two livestream events in July. “Get Productive with Google & Digital Tools” will be presented by Google on Wednesday July 17 th from 12-1PM.

Whether you’re a prospective entrepreneur or existing business owner, digital tools can help you manage everyday tasks more efficiently so bring your lunch and learn more!

The next day on Thursday July 18 th from 1:30-2:30PM the incubator hosts the
webinar “Online Tools and Apps.” In this quick webinar, we will explore mostly
free apps and online tools that enable small businesses and startups to avoid costs in establishing efficiencies for their business in areas like HR, invoicing, CRM, time management, finance management, communication,
marketing, document management, and more.

All seminars/webinars are open to the public and provided at no charge due to
special funding arrangements for the Small Business Center and Bladen
Community College.
