CLARKTON – Elizabethtown snapped a 3-3 tie with a three-run third inning en route to an 11-4 victory over Columbus County on Saturday in the Dixie Youth Baseball District 2 Majors Supplemental Tournament.

Cole Butler led off the Elizabethtown first inning with a hit to center field, and Ryan Dove yanked a hit to left field. Colton Daly walked and Conner Smith followed with a hit. Butler, Dove and Daly scored runs in the inning.

Daly and Marcus Williams connected for hits in the Elizabethtown third inning. Conner Smith reached base, and Tredon Scott laced a hit to left field. Daly, Smith and Scott scored runs to put Elizabethtown ahead 6-3.

Gabe Cashwell belted a hit and scored in the Elizabethtown fourth inning to grow the lead to 7-3.

Dove cracked a one-out hit in the Elizabethtown fifth inning. Daly reached base, and Williams and Smith delivered hits. Dove, Daly, Williams and Smith scored runs to stretch the lead to 11-3.

Daly batted 2-for-3 and scored three runs for Elizabethtown. Dove finished 2-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs. Williams collected two hits, and Butler, Scott, and Cashwell added one hit each. Smith scored twice, and Butler, Scott, Williams and Cashwell scored one run each.

Elizabethtown received a bye on Sunday and will play the Whiteville/South Columbus winner at 8 p.m. Monday.
