RED SPRINGS – Red Springs defeated West Bladen 45-6 on Friday night in Three Rivers Conference football action.

Lee McLean carried 11 times for 96 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Red Devil attack. Angel Washington ran 7 times for 70 yards and a touchdown as Red Springs totaled 272 yards rushing.

The Knights converted one fourth down situation and reached the Red Devil 30-yard line on their first possession of the game before being stopped on downs.

Red Springs responded with a 70-yard drive that McLean capped with a 15-yard touchdown run for a 6-0 lead. Traveze Billinger intercepted a Knight pass, and McLean darted 8 yards for a touchdown then ran the 2-point conversion for a 14-0 lead.

West Bladen fumbled the kickoff, and Billinger hauled in a 38-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Denym McKeithan that boosted the Red Springs lead to 21-0.

The Red Devils scored second quarter touchdowns on a 12-yard run by Washington, a 2-yard run by McLean and a 22-yard run by Tae Graham as the lead grew to 42-0.

Oscar Salgado kicked a 39-yard field goal in the second half to go with his four conversion kicks in the first half.

Senior Tyre Boykin ran 5 yards for a West Bladen touchdown in the fourth quarter. Devon Strange completed 5 passes for 57 yards to lead the Knight offense.

West Bladen, now 0-2 in the TRC and 0-4 overall, will host East Columbus on Friday night. Red Springs, 2-0 in the TRC and 3-1 overall, will entertain East Bladen on Friday night.
