DUBLIN – Bladen Community College Foundation and Bladen Community College Student Services joined forces to host the annual Scholars Breakfast on Thursday, September 12th . Scholars were invited to attend the breakfast to learn more about student services offered by the college, to get better acquainted with key
college department representatives and gain a deeper understanding of their scholarship requirements.
Attendees were welcomed by Linda Burney, BCC Foundation Director. Mrs. Burney congratulated those scholars for being chosen and reminded them that their academic fitness and desire to succeed qualified them to receive a BCC Foundation scholarship. She pledged her support as well as that of Student
Services, Financial Aid and the BCC Foundation to enable scholars to achieve their academic goals.
Dr. Amanda Lee, BCC President, in her remarks urged students to familiarize themselves with the many different student services offered at BCC and to contact those staff members present with any questions or concerns that they may have in the days and weeks ahead. She added, “We are student focused and
here to help you succeed no matter what your course of study or career pathway.”
Dr. Lee introduced Dennis Troy, Chair of the BCC Board of Trustees. Mr. Troy charged each scholar “Be serious about your studies and leave BCC better than you have found it.”
Following Mr. Troy’s comments, Barbara Knight, Chair of the Bladen Community College Foundation reminded students to “take care of yourself—physically, mentally and spiritually—as you study and work towards your goals.”
