Heat Advisory remains in effect from 11 a.m. this morning to 8 p.m. this evening…
Locations…Southeastern North Carolina and Northeastern South Carolina.
* Heat index values…Up to 109 due to temperatures in the mid to upper 90s…and dewpoints in the mid 70s.
* Timing….Late this morning through this evening.
* Impacts…Increasing risk of heat-related illnesses for those not taking the proper precautions…especially when spending an extended period of time outdoors.
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected.  The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illness during outdoor work the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded of air conditioned environments.
