Bladenboro’s Beast Fest 2019 began last evening and continues today, all day long. Music, Amusement rides, crafts and vendors, Southeast Cruisers Car Show, and The Beast arrives at 10 a.m. this morning, local entertainment all day long on the ‘big stage’. Later today, a Children’s Halloween contest, hayrides all day long and Jim Quick & Coastline will entertain from 7-10 this evening.
Hope your Saturday plans include some time in Bladenboro today….I look forward to serving as MC for a portion of the day. It’s going to be a blast, all in downtown Bladenboro. Looking forward to a collard sandwich….Perfect weather…Mostly sunny, high near 78 and a little windy. Showers tonight, mainly after 11 p.m. with a low around 67. Good Beast Fest weather….Might want to bring a chair, or compete for a seat in the bleachers.
Been out of place for a couple of days and was not as well equipped as I thought….missed a couple of days ‘on the job’. Was in Asheville, where there was frost Thursday night….Traveled through Charlotte, always enjoy about once a year…and my return trip was thru Columbia, S.C. Fun time, but happy to ‘back in the saddle again’. Questioned about the leaves…a little to early for the bright orange and yellow…..
Early voting continues for those eligible for municipal elections and the NC State Fair ends tomorrow (Sunday).
Bladen Community College and Southeastern Community College are partnering for a special Job Fair, Tuesday, October 29th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at BCC An information technology industrial prospect is seeking prospects in a wide range of positions. On The Job Training will be available. If successful, over 100 jobs could be coming to the area.
And, a Happy Birthday today to my bride of nearly 59 years…..
A fallen leaf is nothing more than a summer’s wave goodbye.
