Heat Advisory remains in effect from 10 a.m. this morning to 8 p.m. this evening..
Locations…..Bladen and other counties in Southeastern North Carolina and Northeastern South Carolina..
Heat Index Values…Up to 109 due to hot temperatures and high humidity.
Timing….Late morning through this evening..
Impacts…Increasing risk of heat-related illnesses for those not taking the proper precautions…especially when spending an extended period of time outdoors.
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected.  The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.  To reduce the risk of heat illnesses during outdoor work the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
