TABOR CITY – Matt Kemp and Elijah Cain fired in 2 goals each Thursday to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to a 5-0 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer victory over Tabor City.
In the 2nd minute of play Garrett Dunham knocked in the first Blue Devil goal off of an assist from Joshua Lennon. Thirteen minutes later Dunham sent a pass to Kemp who blasted in the goal for a 2-0 Clarkton halftime lead.
In the second half Dunham directed a corner kick to Kemp who banged in his 2nd goal for a 3-0 Blue Devil lead. Two minutes later Kemp sent an assist to Cain who booted in the goal for a 4-0 CSD lead.
Two minutes later Cain hammered in an unassisted goal to boost the final margin to 5-0. Lee Barnes recorded the shutout in goal for the Blue Devils.
Coach Jordan Mazur’s Blue Devils improved to 4-2 on the season and will host Nakina Monday at Bladen County Park.
