DUNN – Mariah Smith fired in 9 points Monday to lead East Bladen’s Lady Eagles to a 17-16 non-conference junior varsity girls basketball victory over Midway.
Smith sparked the Lady Eagles to an early 7-2 lead. East Bladen led 9-6 at halftime and 13-8, before an 8-2 Midway closing run whittled the final margin to one.
Lavada Jackson finished with 4 points for Coach Megan Kirby’s Lady Eagles who won their season opener. East Bladen will travel to Whiteville on Tuesday, December 3.
